PPRuNe is a good site and all but have some of you nothing better to do? Everytime I have a look I see the same names time and time again.

Come on you lot, get a [email protected] life! There's a REAL world with REAL people out there...Honest!

This is actually a way to experience aviation without having to experience aviation. This is much better..........'onest!

In PPRUNE we can choose who we want to speak to. When confromted with assh0les in the real world often it is hard to ignore them.:D

Actually at this moment in time the Mile High thread has had around 800 more 'views' than any other. Do you think that this means anything???

Sorry - don't understand - what exactly is a "life"?

A good question Huggy, as Pilate said "What is Truth?", so "What is a life?"

Now I often travel by train and observe the Trainspotters taking numbers, not of famous locos but quite ordinary DMUs etc. The question WHY? comes to mind but wait. They obviously get a buzz from this as I and others do from posting to Jet Blast. Perhaps these loconumerologists would shake their heads in turn at those who, with noms de plume, post to such websites as this, to say nothing of their feelings about men such as myself who dress in regalia and utter archaic words in halls.

So to those who condemn the PPruners I say this, we have a life, some an active and responsible one at that, (Pilots, ATC, Military, etc, etc). Have you in turn nothing better to do in YOUR life than to pour scorn on ours?

Finally Spuddy, I see you have 3 posts to your name. Perhaps a little longer spent reading the postings and threads of those same old names may be of benefit, and indeed why not engage in discussion with them, rather than merely condemn?

Its over rated HM, don't upset yourself. I tried it once, never again. It fell into the catagory of 'things I wish I had never done'.

I uttered an archaic word in a hall once - quite alarmed one old dear who happened to be passing at the time... :D

Are you guys being a litle hard on Spuddy?

Was his comment tongue in cheek?

How else would he know who was online at any time other than be being online himself?

Mrs Nut reckons my addiction is just another one in a long line-

Alcohol
Deviant sex
Swearing
Early morning visits to the s..thouse

and now.........

PPPPPpppppruning

Yeah (satisfied sigh)

She agrees that I should get a life, which is one extremely good reason for me to continue being glued to the monitor!!!

Why post on PPrune?

Gee- work is slow at this minute.
I might see a good joke.
Slasher might brighten my day.
I can observe TG, TW, UR, Tony and HM among others discourse on topics- BTW, Hug, are you STILL mad at me?
It's a free education as a non aviating aviation fanatic (non-punter). I participate when I have something to offer or ask and read the rest.
It's a hobby/pastime.

I say ( and Slasher would probably agree)- to each his own.

P.S. It amazes me still that I can correspond with smart, bright people around the world so easily- maybe that's why I do it.

Back to work, now.

Edited for inadvertantly typing in another tongue and again for spelling.

I think you have gone over the top with your comments Ďpour scorn on othersí I just say it as I see it. May I suggest you visit an opticians as I believe you may have damaged your eyes (perhaps as a result of staring too long at a computer screen?).

Just because I have just registered doesnít mean I havenít been reading PPRuNe for a long time. To be honest, I have tried to post on PPRuNe before but every time I read some of the rants that some people post (yourself included) it bores me to sleep. ;)
I am wondering if you a resident of a mental institute as dressing up in Ďregalia and uttering archaic words in hallsí certainly isnít a pastime of a sane person in the 21st century.

Big Red 'L'

5 mins? I think you will find that I registered 6 days ago which is 8640 mins, although I read a while ago that you are a train driver so itís not a surprise to me that your time keeping is atrocious. :p

briteandbreezy

Is the rock you are looking for to hide behind? If not, then I suggest you do so...and then crawl out from behind it :D

slj

Indeed you are right. It seems some people wouldn't know a tongue in cheek statement if it hit them in the balls.

Unwell_Raptor

At least your honest

Slasher

I don't have a problem with your porn addiction. Just as long as if we ever meet then I shake your 'typing hand'. ;)

Well maybe this is a good thread to bring up the question about Internet addiction. This appears to be a genuine addiction among a great many people & whem my sister suggested I should join 'Internets Anonymous' I knew I was on a slippery road. I've taken the Internet off my home machine now partly to limit the time and money I spend on it. I suppose as with all new mediums of communication there is an initial novelty factor, also a decade or two ago who would believe you could 'log on' & communicate with people from all walks of life & all over the world on forums or in real time on an equal level. Internet addiction has even ruined marraiges and caused serious problems in relationships. It's so easy if you're bored to log on if you have the facility & with downloading time, a spell in a chatroom & a few posts on a forum etc a few hours can be gone before you know it.

Still this isn't just a cyber forum. Theres a chance to meet the contributors in real life which many of you have done & I yet still have to have the pleasure.

Still everything's best in moderation I believe & one can easily become too emotionally involved. Still there's worse ways to pass the time & everyone to their own, just don't miss out on the richness of reality, cyberspace can't beat it & shouldn't be allowed take over.
