I am a bit confused. There is or was a norsk helicopter bought by and merged with bristow.

There was a norsk helicopter merged with chc.

And finally there is a norsk helicopter service "independent"

Maybe not so independent!

What's a Helicoper? Something to do with Police?

Nah, a Helicoper is someone that just 'gets by' in a spiral.

Just viewed their website and it appears they have some sort of relationship to Bond - anyone know any more about that?

Norsk Helikopter is now 100% Bristow (originally 49%) and is now operating as Bristow Norway AS.

CHC Helikopter Service is what it says, CHC.

Norsk Helikopter Service is a new start with a connection to Bond. They are yet to get contracts and aircraft. They are just an AOC at the moment and their name is simply trying to ride off the success of both Norsk Helikopter and Helikopter Service.

LN-OEA, curiously, seems to be operating out of the very 'rugged and norwegian like' Norwich!

When I raised the question of LN-OEA operating from Norwich, they told me... "The reason the AW 139 is on Norwegian registry is because it is operated by Norsk Helikopterservice AS (NHS) and subsequently leased to Bond Offshore."

The Norwegian register lists it as below - where the owner (in normal type) differs from the Operator, the Norwegian CAA (known as Luftfartstilsynet locally) put the operator it italics underneath.

International Aviation Leasing have 6xAS332 and 2xEC225 on the G register (http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1&mode=summary&owner=International%20Aviation%20Leasing), all in the G-RED# series.

Norsk Helikopterservice receives first S-92 | Helihub - the Helicopter Industry Data Source (http://helihub.com/2013/02/08/norsk-helikopterservice-receives-first-s-92/)

Its financed through Milestone Aviation Group and operating out of Aberdeen but can we say this is NHS helicopter?

With the current aircraft shortage this could be the most expensive S-92 available! going to operate for Bond for a while to supplement the working L2s.

What do you think of the paint scheme? Complex for an offshore cab I think.

...but can we say this is NHS helicopter?

I think that the giveaway is 'NHS' in big gold letters down the side.

One could be forgiven for thinking that this press release was written with the DfT in mind. ;)
