It's not for a job opening, sry :hmm:

I am part of a development group that is working on a DC-8 for Flight Sim X.

We are planning to do all versions but currently only the -73F is being completed. Preview here: HJG DC8 Series II Preview #3 :: Model Status 11/19/2011 - YouTube .

I would appreciate very much any effort that can contribute to our project. Photographic material, sounds, aircraft operation and mx manuals, pilots or F/E's willing to talk to us, etc... Anything that we can't find through google :E

If you have experience and/or documentation on any of the Diesel 8 types and you want to help make this amazing aircraft immortal, please PM me and we'll go from there.

Thank you in advance! :ok:

Don't forget flaps, slats and spoilers...and you need more cloud cover with rain. :ooh:

Euhh, ok. First off, the model is far from finished. Second, a DC-8 dus not have slats but slots and third, that's why I need Diesel 8 drivers haha. But thanks for looking :ok:

Quite right! :) And to your question about the trim tabs, tabs always move [I]opposite[I] the direction of the flight control surface. Again, correct. Good luck with your model! You have a great start with it.

Good start! I agree with what has been said so far. My pennyworth is that the nosewheel steering is far too "twitchy", minor adjustments needed would hardly be seen outside the aircraft; as it is now it would produce a lot of squealing and skidding and wear out the nosewheel tyres in no time at all. Calm it down. Nice smooth movements into and out of the turns. (Yes alright, we had a couple of captains who used to taxy our B4's like you show it, but not for long!).
Good Luck, an interesting project.

Nice model. I always enjoy HJG and the efforts you put into the details. With the gear down and locked you will enable flight spoilers for additional roll control (all DC8 series). Also, the nosewheel displacement is disproportional to the turning radius of the turns during taxi. You will scrub out the tyres very quickly.
