How many hours does the Air Safari take in say a 172?

In 2005 I flew an A36 to and around NZ from Melbourne. I think I did around 25-30 hours in NZ, so figure about 50% more in a C172. I flew Whangarei, Auckland, Wanganui, Masterton, ChCh, Wanaka, Queenstown, Dunedin, Nelson, Auckland, Whangarei.

With a few side jollys as well. I did it in Feb/March and had perfect weather. Spent a week flying in the southern alps and it was absolutely awesome.

There's an 'air rally' planned for 12-29 March 2013 and looks like it might be good fun.

Hi, DDD.
I am planning to go on the NZ Air Safari 2013. I hope to hire a Cessna 172 in Wellington for the trip. From the details provided by flyingnz.co I estimate it will be about 30hrs flying for the trip.
Currently, I fly a Cessna 172 out of Tyabb - Peninsula Aero Club - in Melbourne.
It should be great fun.

Cheers
Brett

If you are not flying a VH reg aircraft you will need to do a conversion to a local license if you fly solo.

See http://www.caa.govt.nz/pilots/Flight_Crew_Recognition_Info.pdf for more details.
