I would love to know. Must be some rumours on this as it may lead the winner to more substantial work down there - thinking of post Sea King SAR and the offshore oil development side.

Still no news, must be waiting for BIH to get the cheque from Sainsburys to get some new equipment:rolleyes:

As I flew for British International for 21 years, 11 of that in the Falklands, I know what the lack of news about contracts is like, the job at times is stressfull enough without, "no news"! BIH have done, and continue to do, a fantastic job down there. I wish them well in retaining the contract.

Presumably the MoD and the DfT are talking about this together. If I were them, I would keep my powder dry until the result of the downselect in SAR(H), next March 2013. Only then will the government be in full possession of the facts going fwd.
Who knows, perhaps the winner may be invited to sweep up the Falklands service requirements (SH and SAR) as well - all for a very reasonable price.............

All you say is very true, but as normal no one cares about "human factors"!

Spot on chap, they have. Also, thanks for providing some useful info on another thread, instead of the usual bitch-fest on there!
