Talks are apparently going on between ON and the Marshallse and Nauruan Governments re an October restart of services BNE NAN TRW INU MAJ on a weekly basis.

The NAN stop will only be every 2nd week.

I am amazed QF or DJ haven't looked at this one considering the contractural fares into and out of INU that could be had servicing the refugees that will soon be there. The Marshalls are also a decent destination with big dollars to be had from US Military based there and the only viable flights to Australia being 3 or 4 mind bending stops to GUM and then a flight to CNS plus domestics to anywhere else here. Fares aren't pretty either.

Seems an opportunity missed.

BNE NAN TRW INU MAJ

BNE- NAN: - doubt it, they wouldn't have the Australia-Fiji rights.

As for TRW and NAN (both via INU) every second week, that's old news - been that way for some time now. BNE - INU already weekly.

Not aware of a US base on MAJ (a small RAN detachment there, though). The US presence is on KWA, albeit a part of the Marshalls.

Presumably the return from MAJ would be the reverse of what you've suggested - no better than the 3 or 4 stops you've already mentioned.

Yep - sorry folks

They no longer live in the GDS systems so fell off my radar. My bad:O:O

Only bookable online. The ON plate disappeared about 12 months ago from our 90 plus accreditations.

It would be wise for them to go back to IATA and into the GDS systems as they would present themselves as an alternative to destinations such as TRW and MAJ which are expensive to get to due to the one perceived carrier status.

Our Airline set for return to OZ

Returning to OZ? The airline is VH registered and has been based in Brisbane for a few years with all Australian crews.

Thanks EWL. It was a commissioned piece as a retirement gift for an 'Our Airline' management pilot.

$6million per month, which is more than the government contributes to the RFDS according to a recent news article.

A very sorry state of affairs as I too see them at PH every day. At least somebody is benefiting I suppose.

$6million per month

To whom? Overall for the refo's or in toto? Certainly not to Our Airline, and I have reliable and verifiable information.

I would be more concerned how the government is hiding the total cost of the refo charters by deflecting a sizeable proportion of it into the RAAF budget. Using the C-17's and the A330 (when it is serviceable) to carry Sri Lankans back to Colombo and burying it in the RAAF budget smacks of deceit when it comes to declaring the real cost. But, Labor, what do you expect?

You don't have to go back far to remember more than "smacks of deceit"
Children overboard, weapons of mass destruction, Aust Wheat Boaard just a small sampling. Liberals what do you expect.
But let's be honest - both sides lie to you.

A simple search of govt records shows Skywest, Skytraders, Qantas, Our Airline, Cobham, Adagold (via the Portugese A330), Toll (Airwork NZ) are but a few benefiting from the transport and support of the illegal entries. Not just one airline, Propstop.

Liberals what do you expect

At least they managed the illegal arrivals problem, and they could manage the country's economy, both things Gillard can't do.

At least they managed the illegal arrivals problem
Don't believe the rhetoric - most are asylum seekers, not illegal arrivals and a huge majority arrive by air. Didn't do anything about them, did they!!
