Two injured in Tiger Moth biplane accident

Two people were taken to hospital after their biplane crashed close to the Lossiemouth RAF base in Moray.

Grampian Police said their injuries from the accident, which involved a vintage Tiger Moth, were not life threatening.

It is understood that the aircraft came down at about 19:30 on Sunday at Shempston Airfield.

The Grampian Fire and Rescue service said they sent four fire engines to the scene.

Hardly sensationalist reporting, and fire services generally go into overkill mode with any aircraft incident - just in case it's far bigger than they think at first.

It was in fact a crash at their home airstrip of Shempston. A roughly north/south grass strip just to the west of the main runway at Lossiemouth.

Aircraft looks wrecked, the fact that they're still alive is amazing. Speedy recovery to all.
