Rumour has it Pearl has been sold. Anyone know if there is any truth to it? Who bought it and for what purpose?

Skytraders. They are up this way all the time now. Would be a good fit. Airline equipment with what Pearl have.

Just postulating boys and girls!! Don't really know to be honest. But it would set the hares running up here.:ok:

Who would want it? Worn out Metros and Kingairs and not much work left for them........

Lost a couple of contracts in the last few months and is going down hill anyway.

Might be cheaper to sit back and wait for the fire sale???

Would the land they occupy on the airport be perhaps more valuable?

And all the engineers are employed by Pearl they may now be employed by Aerorescue.

I hear Skytrans. Any advance on Skytrans?

Would the land they occupy on the airport be perhaps more valuable?

I recon the value would have risen considerably now that the Shipp has been sunk.

I hear on the grapevine Alliance got the Granites run from the Alice?

It also seems Airnorth is stealing a few major contracts in the bread and butter that is Truscott of Pearl.

If this is the case Alliance may be after the hanger facilities in the Alice with the facilities in Darwin thrown in for good measure. Hardy may also want the Pearl facilities to house all those extra aeroplanes though.

Will be good for the Pearl guys if the opportunity is available to them to move on to bigger and better things from a night in shining armour as the company has been withering on the vine for the past ten years or so.

Does Aerorescue come with the deal too?

Maybe the Irishmen may be coming back to oversee the sale :)

Could be the boys next door need the hangar space for all those extra dashes needed for border protection though

I always understood Pearl had dibs on more than a couple of the hangars along that line.

I am not sure what the company would currently be worth but possibly there is some truth in the value of the hangars.

Could be some interesting times ahead.

According to Alliance's web site (http://www.allianceairlines.com.au/docs/investor/alliance-aviation-asx-release-25-july-2012-%28newmont-deal%29-%28asx-ref-1130190%29.pdf); they have picked up the Newmont contract and are going to set up a base in Darwin.

Pearl's hangars are used by AeroRescue (separate company, same owners) too. Even if Pearl is sold, AeroRescue still need the hangars and offices (unless Cobham pick up the SAR contract then maybe they would need that space too?).

The hangars might actually be worth more than Pearl!!!

Interesting times ahead indeed!!!

People that are employed by Pearl who work in the said hangar say its BS.

"Expertise"?

Who says Cobham's aircrews couldn't stand around in carparks all day smoking and gas-bagging?

If it only takes a short 'practice' flight every month to keep up the "expertise", I don't see why Cobham's frequently airborne crews couldn't do it too.

Its going to be interesting to see how all of this pans out.

Anyone know where the new Alliance base is going to be if it isn't going to be in the Pearl hangar?

Ahh gee

Pearl's Metros aren't flying any more (no work), Kingairs have done stuff all for a while now. Staff laid off or leaving.

Sold or stuffed?

Surviving on the proceeds of AeroRescue's SAR contract?

Not looking pretty.

How long will this go on for?

I think they would be talking about the hangar extension, office complex and carpark though. Didn't the troops have an 'opening' party for it even ?

Is it true the Metros have no work?

From what I recall they were flat out heading to TST. Although rumour has it they lost Alice/TGT to Alliance.

I heard OYE and OYD (Pearl Kingairs) out in the Pilbara recently. Have they won a new contract out there or do Pearl even own them now?

Cheers,

Tiger.

I keep an ear out for OYD was my old bus some 3500 hours on it they had a firm contract for it in 2007 but since has lived in Alice I believe.
