As an inhabitant of SW London it has been difficult to ignore the KingAir flying racetracks over the various cycling events (and probably others) over the last few days. Does anyone know (or is "allowed to tell") what it is doing? Surveillance of some sort inevitably, but is it perhaps a replacement for the grey BN2T that used to loiter out of Northolt in the past?

I think it may be a Belgian operated relay station working on behalf of Olympic Broadcasting Services. Didn't it have an incident at Cambridge the other day?

I guess if it is doing the TV relay then they have either repaired it rather quickly or have found a replacement as it is buzzing around at the moment!

I think that it's the Belgian one (or it's replacement!) being used as a TV relay node. It's presently flying over the Olympic Cycle timetrials based in and around Hampton Court in SW London. That's not to say other flying things aren't doing their thing over the capital,

Yes, frustratingly it is above the cloudbase at the moment or one could get a positive ID.

Could it be a Shadow Beech 350 RAF?

If the original did a wheels up landing at Cambridge on Saturday night then it's safe to say that this week's model must indeed be a replacement! or has speed tape got a whole lot more effective over the years?;)
