Yes a repeat - longer documentary was done at Lossie in the late 80s when the Seaking was in middle age;)

It occurred to me that when they were having trouble signalling to the climbers on Snowdon that they should crouch down to avoid being blown off the ridge, that some sort of loudspeaker might be an idea on an SAR helicopter. Might be handy in a lot of situations.

Has this been tried? I recall that aircraft in the Far East were fitted with something called Skyshout for use in propaganda ops against insurgents in the jungle.

This was put up as a proposal when I was on the 18 Group Standards Unit back in 1981 but was turned down as was my proposal that Winchmen should be trained in Advanced First Aid and Patient Management.
Skyshout would be very useful during searches or passing instructions to people on the ground during rescues. Could also be used to play the Ride of the Valkyries!!
