Does anyone know if an Australian Instructor Rating is any use in the UK?

It seems as if everything needs to be converted to be JAR compliant....

Any advice from anyone who has tried something similar would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I am afraid you'd have to go JAR. Not much is recognised over here (from Oz). It's a long and costly process.

The short is is no, you can't use your Oz instructor rating here. I'm not even sure if your instructing experience will count towards any of the milestones for restriction removal.

You will have to do the whole JAR instructor rating course.

The long answer is that IF you have an Oz reg. a/c here + an Oz flying school that establishes a satellite operation here (along with paying for all the CASA regulatory oversight) then, yes, you could use your Oz instructor rating here.

You would be able to teach Oz licences/ratings only.
