Pel-Air closing down their Townsville base?

Heard a rumour recently that Pel-Air was shutting down their Townsville base. Not sure about any of the details as to why or when but given their recent advirtising for pilots for the Townsville and Mackay bases it seems a little surprising to say the least. Has anyone else heard this rumour or has somebody just given me some dodgy info?

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me?

There continues to be a steady stream of REX pilots cycling through Townsville, at hugh expense, just to fill the gaps in the Pel-Air charter commitments. This continues to place enormous pressure on crew resources further south.

Closing the Pel-Air base will only make that situation worse!
