The story goes that my principal has owned a Hawker 800 for about 14 months now and we are in the process of moving up. The typical mission is 2-6 pax and we do a lot of 2000nm legs.

The aircraft that have been on the list are in the 6-7 Million dollar ballpark and include the G200 and Citation X.... Id love to hear what you guys think. Both aircraft are easily able to do the 2000nm legs and both are significantly faster than the Hawker we will be replacing. So the question, what would be better to live with? on a pilot and owners perspective.

Cheers

CL604. Its a no-brainer. 1999 model US$7m. Steal.

I would say the Falcon 2000 as well under most circumstances. Having said that, as LGW already pointed out, there are some great deals to be made on the 604s at the moment. You get a LOT of aircraft for your money.

Hourly cost of 604 roughly 10-15% more expensive than the Citation X and 15-20% more than the Falcon 2000. Your budget too low to get good Falcon 2000EX.

The 604 is a no-brainer. If you have a brain, get a G-IV.

I've flown both, I don't know anyone who prefers the 604.

Not flying the 750 but sharing the same cockpit size (C680) I would try to avoid the Cessna if you really fly a lot of 2000nm trips. Even at the greater speed you`ll sit 4 hours +. Did 6 legs at around 4 hrs each last week in 3 days and my back still aches...

I hate the long trips and I´m not by any means tall. Even at 1,72 mtrs I can't really stretch my legs and we have left the cockpit sliding doors away, which gave us some 2 or 3 inches more room.

I doubt that your pax will like the even smaller crossection compared to the 800 on long trips...

Thanks for the comments guys. Very much appreciated. At this point the falcon is out of the question.... a decent Falcon 2000 is going to be 2-4 million more than the budget. I also agree that it is the best of the bunch as well.

The 604 operating costs seems to be too high from what I hear... significantly higher than the G200. Looks like we are looking at the 9 pax config G200 and trying to get the ones after the Galaxy became a G... seems like the smart play. What serial number is the first "lighter" G200? SN53 ish?

Falcon 50EX, great short field performance, decent cabin size for 2-6 and excellent reliabilty.

Forget your G200 - the first sub US$5m CL604s are out there now. Don't miss it, two of them. You heard it here first!:eek:
