Hi guys,

If I were to take a year out with my family in Australia and use the time to do an CPL/ATPL course, but wanted to return to live/work here in the UK, what additional work/cost would be required to make the license(s) valid back here?

Not good news AA:

Untold ground school, a full IR course again (I think they credit you 5 hours) and lots of money ...upwards of 20,000 pds.

Hmmm... Then I wonder if anyone in Australia is JAR-accredited?

In hope...

You could come here and do the Aus PPL and Night VFR and build up a heap of hours, including night time towards your ATPL, study by distance learning and then do the modular course when you return to the UK. Works out a lot cheaper than doing the whole lot over there, and you'll have a great time while you are over here.
Email me if you want more details.
