That's stretching it a bit...

In order to sustain returns to members, FNPF is no different to any other pension fund in the world, they invest member's funds in a variety of enterprises which like all investments carry a degree of risk. Like many other pension funds FNPF has made some poor investments e.g. Natadola but at the same time the fund needed significant reform. Last year FNPF posted $242m surplus which is a big turn around from previous years.
I understand that the FNPF investment in Air Pacific is secured by a lien over assets and only for around 20% of the total costs for the three A330's whilst other European financial institutions have lent the rest. I would think that European institutions would be conservative over investments and have done their homework.
No the staff are not shareholders by any stretch of the imagination unless they own shares in Qantas, not that those shares would by you a Fiji Bitter any more...nor are they shareholders in FNPF and its investments. They are only members of a pension fund.

Impressive turn around in Air Pacific given existing aviation climate and impressive turn around in FNPF. Maybe it's a good investment and that's it?

I've seen a job offer for 737NG F/O in Fiji.

I'm trying to look for some info regarding the company and working conditions, salaries, rosters... But found nothing using google or the pprune search function so,

Can anyone give me a brief on that?

I'm not too worried about conditions or kind of contract as I've been shortlisted for a major airline. Just looking for short term place to do some hours and €.

Do they bond the F/Os?

I'm sure they won't mind spending money training you, but make sure you tell them on your cover letter that you're just going to be there for a short time as you have another job lined up

Found something in latestpilotsjobs.com saying EXPATS CAN APPLY.

But once in contact with them they told me I need a residence permission in some of: Australia, NZ or USA.

Guess my Spanish passport won't work :ugh:

You know what, didn't get it because I was expecting a real answer as I was posting a real doubt.

But, once the sarcasm is understood just let me give you my point on that.

I am a qualified F/O close to 3k hours on the type concerned in the advertisement, B737-700/800 (btw they were asking only for 200 on type)
If I join them they will probably give me the company conversion course which is normally about a few ground hours and a couple of sims.

Obviously I wouldn't be asking for bonds or something like that if I was looking for a company offering me a full TR course plus some experience in line.

I don't expect a company contracting a guy with 3k on type pissing off because this guy leaves, simply because this guy cost 0$ to the company.

That's it.

And, talking about languages and ICAO proficiency. I would like to get as much fun as you guys got. Just post me your answers in Spanish, French, Italian, or whatever. I'll be so surprised watching you guys posting something different than English. My 2 cents you can't.
