I have recently been knocked back for a UK Class 1 medical for Air Traffic Control due to past history of migraine - last attacked was 5 years ago (as on doctor records) and I now have to wait another 5 years clear before they will consider me again.

I think this is rediculus as I can still hold a medical for Private Flying and a medical for Flight INformation Services Officers Licence.

OBviously I dont want to wait 5 years unless I really really have to, anyone on ehre have an comments or past experience with this? or anything at all that may help me?

Thanks

A mate in Australia had his Class 1 pulled after CASA found he had a history of migraines. They wanted 2 years free before he could hold his Class 2 again. He used to get the blurred vision etc. As far as I know, they wanted another 2 years on top of that to get his Class 1 back. All in all 4 years.
