The Laravale departure off RW19 in Brisbane is something like:
MEAND
DADAN
DENNIS
LILLEE
Obviously a cricket tragic working somewhere in Airservices!
I think SY still has PLUGA, KELLI and LOKET on the oceanic tracks. Of course younglings that didn't follow the might Swans circa mid '90s wouldn't know what I'm talking about.
Used to be a route in central Australia for the RAAF 707 tankers that had MOBIL, FILUP, BOWSR, etc.

So nice that they have so much time to make up such 'cute' names for their waypoints instead of redesigning the airspace to enable RPT jets to stay in controlled airspace without a spaceshuttle dive at the runway :D:ugh:

Whoah!?? Definitely Left field...........:}
With Ollie I also want to sign the petition demanding Class C CTA from SFC-FL600 within 100nm of every Airport that services an RPT jet! Those VFR types can just remain OCTA and fly no where near any civilisation!:ok:

Maybe AirServices don't spend too much time making up waypoint names!
You used to be able to submit your own waypoint names for consideration. :oh:

And for those that go to VHHH and haven't already noticed
ILS 07L code is IZSL ( ILS ZERO SEVEN LEFT )
ILS 07R is ISR ( ILS SEVEN RIGHT )
ILS 25L is IFL ( ILS FIVE LEFT )
ILS 25R is ITFR ( ILS TWO FIVE RIGHT )
Sneaky...:ok:

Ollie to be fair. CASA OAR design the airspace not Airservices.
We just gotta live with it.

The names of waypoints on the northern routes out of Alice (DERAK, DIGLA, YUSEF, TIMMI, LISSA, SCOTI, DEENO etc) will probably be recognisable to longer serving Melbourne Centre ATCs. Were serving on that sector when the routes were redrawn about 10 years ago.
Sometimes we do get the chance to put our names up in lights.
