I just know how much a new MPA thread means to so many of you, and so......

Anyone know why a Saab 2000 MPA is at Aberdeen?

Coming over here, stealing our jobs, etc etc.

If we could tie in the disgraceful cancellation of the MRA4 in the first few posts, that'd be just marvellous. It's been a while since we did this. Days, certainly.

I always found this to be the best fishing place near Aberdeen.

Reasonable rates too, I used to get the £20 permit.

This could be part of the pre-delivery / refit test schedule for Pakistan who I believe operate a few now. Any clue as to the markings on this one?

Or it could be a capability demonstrator for the new UK MPA (being delivered to the RAF by 2015 and operated from RAF Lossiemouth).......

This is indeed a very good question... and Pakistan is not an acknowledged MPA customer as far as we know.

Scuttled, have you actually seen the aircraft – what does it look like, is there a photo of it anywhere?

...a Saab 2000MPA customer (as stated above), in case that wasn't obvious.

A 2000 MPA is on the list for RIAT. Aberdeen-based anoraks with cameras, to the thread STAT.

Although listed as an MPA that aircraft is just a vanilla Saab 2000 that the manufacturer is using to advertise the 'concept', it says. So if there is an actual MPA mod out there then that would be news...
