View Full Version : Russian military Antonov crash landing at LKCV?
Anyone has some data on belly landing of Antonov An-30B (?) at Caslav airport?
I've seen just some tabloid type of reports which doesn't make too much sense.

Hear from a friend at Czech tv that nose strut failed on landing.
23 on board, 7 reported seriously injured.

some rumour from Czech spotter forum:
planes.cz - AN30B - 04 - Russian Air Force - Caslav ( LKCV ) (http://www.planes.cz/cs/photo/1138820/an30b-04-russian-air-force-caslav-lkcv/)
- it seems it was high speed landing on rwy 32
- nose gear collapsed after bump?
- runway overrun, final position of acft could be seen here: planes.cz - AN30B - 04 - Russian Air Force - Caslav ( LKCV ) (http://www.planes.cz/cs/photo/1138830/an30b-04-russian-air-force-caslav-lkcv/)
- 23 SOB, no fatalities, 6 transported to hospital, one in serious conditions

They say emergency landing because smoke in cabin, steep descent, high speed landing in secound half of RWY (2400m)... Note - flaps look only little extended

No fire from the engines or wing fuel tanks. It looks like the fire was in the cabin. Well done to them in getting down safely and getting away. :ok:
