Seismic event in Emilia-Romagna

A strong earthquake was felt in much of northern Italy and in particular the provinces of Ferrara, Modena and Mantova. According to data recorded by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology seismic event occurred at 04.04 with a magnitude of 5.9 to a depth of about 6 km. The epicenter is located between the towns of Finale and San Felice sul Panaro, near Modena, and Sermide in the province of Mantua. Following the earthquake that hit the provinces of Ferrara, Modena and Mantua, the Head of Civil Protection Department has met in permanent session, the Operational Committee at the headquarters of Via Vitorchiano in Rome. In videoconferencing, the structures of civil protection of the Emilia-Romagna and Friuli Venezia-Giulia, representing the Regions and Autonomous Provinces.
