Hello. I have created a New Thomson Livery thread so people in The normal Thomson thread don't have to complain about livery posts.

Here is the new livery:
http://worldairlinenews.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/thomson-787-800-12fltthompsonlr.jpg?w=606

It is due to be painted on one of the 767's this week, which one I dont know.

It is due to be painted on one of the 767's this week, which one I dont know.

My guess would be G-OOAN as it's been out of service since 01Apr.

Rather disappointed TOM have decided to introduce the new livery onto a 767 instead of with the delivery of the first 787! All of the recent 737's that have been delivered in the now old livery aswell :ugh:

I believe its G-OBYG

I dont think but i could be wrong that any of the ex FCA 767's are being repainted.

G-OOAN has indeed been out of service from 1st April for cabin refitting

I thought only two ex FCA's were going. G-DBLA & G-PJLO.

I wonder if all the TUI companies will get the new livery or if its just Thomson. If its all of them wonder what it looks like in Yellow.

I know around November last year the two LA/LO were going but has this not been extended due to the 787 delays, the LA has only just been refurbished interior wise. As far as i can see there are no plans to reduce flights in June and August.

There is another one due at the beginning of May. Wether it will be in the new colurs im not sure but if I had to guess I would unfortunately say no.

i can't say it's significantly different than what they have or what is out there already. horrid typeface, horrid logo, same wavy lines along the fuselage as BMI, it's all a bit 'meh' imo.

The livery on the 767 is different than the one depicted on the 787. Check the tail colour.

Cut off the tail on the 767 and the livery is good in my opinion, however the TUI blue tail is too light to be placed there and clashes with the dark blue below. I dont get why they sandwich dark blue between the two light blue sections, it ruins the overall look.

It could easily be improved by extending the dark blue into the tail to provide a better flow in the colour changes from dark to light. That would obviously be against the brand mark though.

The TUI Belguim livery on OO-TUC Jetair - TUI Airlines Belgium Boeing 767-341(ER) - Planespotters.net Just Aviation (http://www.planespotters.net/Aviation_Photos/photo.show?id=244864) is a million times better than the bland one tone blue flying around today and would be great on the 787.

The livery on the 767 is different than the one depicted on the 787. Check the tail colour.

The 787 is only an artist's impression. No doubt when it finally arrives it will have the same coloured fin as the 767. After all, that fin colour is Thomson/TUI's trademark colour on all their travel agencies.

:ok: as I noted a little further down in my post. They should have hired the artist who painted the 787 because the tail looks a million times better :)

I was informed a couple of years ago by a good source that none of the ex-FCA 767's are going to be repainted as they are all due to (eventually) be replaced by the 787 - they are also older than the TOM airframes.

G-DBLA & G-PJLO are leased from a different company and were due to be "retired" some time ago, but the leases have been extended due to the delays delivering the Dreamliner. This is also why they are the only two that have not been fitted with winglets.

Skyliner states it was ferried BHX-NWI-BHX 1-6Nov. Is this correct? Thought it took a lot longer to fully repaint a B757! Data24 shows it routing CWL-NWI-BHX on the same dates.

Any more repainted lined up?

I think the plan is to paint as many of the 14 x 757 they plan to keep after 2013 painted as quickly as possible, same will also happen to the 737's ! we've had a mix of liveries for more than 5 years since the merger its time to have just one which the European group is also adopting.

The problem has been that in the past the Thomson decals on the RB211's have peeled and started looking tatty after contact with the various engine fluids.

It seems they have been deleted on the new cols machines.

I personally think the "thomson.co.uk" looks a bit tatty and more of a low cost market advertising niche. I can remember Thomsonfly having "Thomson" on the RB211's on the 75's. However i think it would be nice if Thomson had the Rolls Royce badge/decal on the RB211's like FCA did, mind you the general electric decal is on the new 787's G-TUIA+G-TUIB.

You`d think that all the aircraft would be painted/repainted into the new Thomson livery, as per instructions from Thomson. There doesn`t seem to be any consistency in the repainting though!

Website address on engines, or not
Aircraft type titles underneath registration, or beside it
Different sized `Thomson` titles
Different fonts for registration & aircraft type marks
White or blue tail registration marks

saw on a very sunny Saturday evening a BY 787 doing a few approaches and climb outs at low level at NQY around 1900...

guess doing touch and go's?

thought it was a 737 at first but it looked odd LOL
(Thomson's do a PMI flight now and again)

looked again and thought it's a bit big for a 738 and tail was all wrong,
then 767 crossed my mind...no...

then after the second climb out it dawned on me

787 lol!

TAWB should be painted soon. There are only 2 aircraft based in East Midlands for the winter TAWB is based in EMA along with FDZU. So another a/c would have to position to EMA to cover for TAWB or FDZU while there in the paint shop.

TAWA may position to EMA after it gets painted in the new livery to cover TAWB or FDZU if one of them is next into the EMA paint shop.

Thomson have for a lot of the time during the winter 2 daily flights or more from EMA. That means both a/c are in use. There isnt a lot of down time.

Britannia/Thomson have done a few 767 Caribbean cruise and xmas shopping NYC charters for years out of EXT and much more so from BOH - but sadly since Bath Travel has been swallowed up we see alot less of them -

P&O cruises are expanding the fly-cruise Caribbean from more smaller provincial airports though so watch out for more....

Cunard cruises use mainly chartered BA 767's out of LHR for their ship charters mainly to VCE FCO and ATH and use TOM 737's for Cunard flights out of MAN

some years ago Qantas 744's were chartered for cruise ship charters out of LHR
and I flew back from IST to LHR on one...but there were objections to Qantas using the 'downtime' of their 744's laying over during the day at LHR between the Oz flights so they stopped.

TOM2628 MAN-VRN today being operated by 763 G-OOBM, unusual to see 763 on shorter rotation but no other 757 available but due to failure of G-OOBA at Bristol base after operating TOM6550 rotation to TFS yesterday, G-BYAY stepped up and ferried to BRS this morning as TOM9008. G-OOBA still at TFS at present
