Word on the street is that the two Casa 212's operated by Skytraders on behalf of the AAD will no longer be operated in Antarctica with the AAD finally deciding they are not suited for their operations.

Well I hope all the knowledge and experience gained in that operation is not lost, because should AAD review their decision at some stage, those sort of skills are not easily acquired.

Indeed Jab, MAS operate two of them from Nowra in support of the Parachute Training School (because the RAAF are unable to do so effectively). The Skytraders aircraft are -400s aren't they? And ski equipped. They might be a bit expensive and more suited for sle overseas.

The of knowledge Skytraders does not compare to that of the Canadian operators. After all it's there bread & butter all year round.
