BWA's ATP Operation Starts Again...??

Trading as Silver City Airways from ABZ - (an old airline well before my time, i'm sure IFR will remember them!!)

The Aberdeen Shell Oil contract........who is the operator now, is it a shadow BWA company?

The operator is currently Flightline with BAe146. No it has nothing to do with BWA except that they are based in the same office shed at Southend Airport.

Flightline are operating 3 146s to Scatsta until the end of January to operate the BRISTOW contract for the consortium (BP, BPSV, kerr Mcgee, shell & DNO). The operation after then is being applied for at the moment but nothing will probably be announced for a few weeks. The current operation requires 5 helicopter loads of 18 pax, 3 times a day. The ATPs used to go up 2 at a time, one with 3 loads and one with 2, with that in mind, I would have thought they need an aircraft that can carry 54 pax (3 loads!). Who knows, maybe there is still the chance of the ATPs continuing under someone new.

The only ATP aircraft visible at World Aviation (BWA SUBSIDIARY) last week were three Air Europa Express aircraft which I believe were handed back to BAe a couiple of months ago

Maybe BAe are planning to use them on the Shell Contract themselves - seems a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face since BAe grounded BWA's 4 ATP's in the first place

Also heard that one of BWA's ATP's is impounded at Southend (Heavylift) and is subject to Masive liens

Silver City was a trading name used by one of the companies that eventually became BWA (BUA, British Air Ferries etc). Wouldn't this name now belong to the liquidator?

Reading the recent press reports on BAe I really think is is highly unlikey that they would get involved in running these aircraft for a contract.

BAe have moved the support for the ATP from France back to the UK, really think that they cannot be arsed supporting the ATP, cheaper for them to mothball any aircraft they get back from leases.

Air Europa Express wanted to purchase a few ATP's the BAe had some time ago, and BAe refused to sell them. As it happens now they dont have any !

Havn't Air Europa Express stopped operating and sent all their ATP's back? I seem to remember that they had a whole lot of them (largest operator of?)

Ops Bangle - correct. I believe some 15 or more were handed back, bringing the total ATP's out of service to over 30 - 50% of the fleet

There is still one ex BWA ATP parked at Southend bearing a notice stating that the aircraft is under the management of MBA (Morten Beyer and Agnew. Who are they and what do they do?

There seems to have been some trim tabs and flaps removed and panels opened up so the aircraft is rather exposed to the salty elements. Who stands to lose?
