Flying in Africa

Hello all

Am wanting a new adventure and experience and was wondering if any companies anywhere in Africa employ expat pilots flying bush aerial work.

Im up too going to any part of Africa.

I have 3000+ hrs mainly in AS350 and B206 with 300 hrs sling and nearly all of my TT is in remote bush work conducting all types of aerial and charter work.

Im Aussie and just looking for anyone on this forum to direct me in the right direction of companies or contacts that hire ex-pats.

Do any companies (GA) hire on a touring basis ??

Some of the oil and mineral companies are changing to a "safer" operation, insisting on twin-engine and multi-pilot operations for longlining..

They require (depending upon the company) 300 or 500 hours on the type flown..

But there are still companies flying single engines and long lining....although you´re a "low timer" in long lining, try "Wild Hog Helicopters".....that´s the only company i know operating AS350´s.....

(But of course there are plenty more).

ANAC, Gabon’s main aviation authority in the capital Libreville announced the crash of a Bell 212 helicopter on Tuesday March 14th 2012 killing the two crews piloting the aircraft; a French and Austrian national. The helicopter went down at approximately at 1:30pm local time while taking part in oil exploration/seismic operations on behalf of the Perenco Oil company with CCG Veritas Services SA of France acting as the main contracting party.

The crash site near the Iguela marsh land area, is located in Gabon’s southwest oil-producing hub, not far from the tiny oil-producing nation economic capital of Port-Gentil.
