Well Groundstar must be doing something pretty good as they have just gained six contracts for the forthcoming summer season from Servisair at NCL. I believe they are Futura, Air Europa, Hemus Air, Sunexpress, Eurocypria and the sixth is as yet un-named! Servisair are going down hill fast, not just at NCL but everywhere! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="redface.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="redface.gif" />

Not all of the Servisair stations are going down hill. I have had experience in dealing with Groundstar at STN and to be truthfull they are not very quick in coming back with any info.. .As regards baggage on the right aircraft, tracing of bags, and bags missing flights. Not everybody is perfect but STN need a kick up the bside at the minute

HAd probs with Groundstar in BHX. After operating overnight from SFB then coach upto GLA. Had to wait along with our passengers for 90mins to get luggage off aircraft. The agent basically told lies to everyone including the operating crew. Basically they didnt have the staff to offload the bags, but rather than say that, everyone got different stories. agent even refused to give passengers who wished to complain the name and address of manager."I cant give out that information" was the only reply. It turns out after chatting with HM Customs and Armed airport police that this was a regular thing with Groundstar at BHX.

The main reason they are getting all these new contracts is because of costs. They are charging anything up to a fifth of what Servisair are charging for an aircraft turn. Mimimal profits from a flight so as soon as the preverbial hits the fan they are at a loss. Just hope they get it right more than they get it wrong or they wont be round for longer than five minutes.

Hi, Can anyone advise why there are such long delays with early morning departures with Ryanair out of Stansted these days? She who must be obeyed was at STN bright & early this am for FR901 which has a 0705 departure to Cork. Check in desk for FR is supposed to begin 2 hours before departure. Check-in began at 6 am today with one girl doing all the FR901 passengers, aircraft full, (738) and then on the aircraft for 50 minutes before taxi for take-off and eventual arrival at ORK at 0925 and from my own observations the first RYR to Cork has been late like this now for the last number of days. Is this Groundstar or Serviceair & what's the story, Rory? Thanks, TTT.

Servisair and Ryanair parted company at Stansted on 17th March 2 years into a 3 year contract. Servisair didn't make a penny handling them and decided to cut their loses.. .. .Groundstar took over the contract and were hugely underprepaird for the beast that is FR, hence the reason for many delays and baggage delivery times of between 1 hour and 2 hours 30 mins.. .. .Servisair have recently issued price increases to most of the airlines they handle (the first for many years) saying to them that if they don't want to pay the money they can go elsewhere, some (Cyprus Airways, Air Europa) have gone to, and if they can get a better service for the same or less money then good luck to them, however I suspect they will regret their decesion.. .. .Many have stayed with Servisair, realising that to get proper handling they have to pay the proper rate.. .. .Servisair, like all busineses are there to make money, what is the point of handling an airline for nothing? or worse still loseing money on every turnround?. .. .Surely simple economics tells you that it is better to handle one or two airlines and make money than five or ten and lose it.. .. .All the best

Used Groundstar in Hamburg to handle one of our B747 freighters a couple of weeks ago. No complaints, worked fine with a fairly difficult load.
