The joint owners of Norwich airport, Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council have decided to sell a majority shareholding in Norwich Airport.. .It is estimated that the airport will require an investment of £32 million over the next ten years, to rebuild taxiways, airfield improvements and terminal extensions etc, and a terminal extension. . .Consultants Earnst + Young have undertaken a review of options available and have recommended that equity in the airport should be sold and specialist advisers be appointed to oversee the sale - I think I could have done that and charged a 10th of the fee! :)

So there we have it chaps and gals, if you've ever wanted your own airport, now's your chance.. .Any takers? :)

Interesting. I thought local authorities are now permitted to borrow money for airport development on the open market. I am sure that the government changed its rules as Luton was being put out to concession by Luton Borough Council.

Newcastle (Or a large share of) has recently been purchased by Copenhagen airport. These Danes seem to be very good people. They were very VERY close in the running to operate Luton.
