Did anyone snap up a bargain at the auctions on friday? shame to see VH-FIE in a state like that.....same for the old queenair.

From the ad., VH-FIE was for sale by Tender......

If only those 6 numbers had come in....

Harsh but them IOSC can turn their innards into a thin but savoury broth quicktime.
Would be better to use frames now filled with cement and used as a boat mooring

It was VH-XAT an Excalibur conversion. Awesome aeroplane.... But the wings are due to clap hands next flight according to CASA. So we banish another one from our shores....:mad:

Thanks Mr Milk, I have not flown that one.
As a matter of interest.....Australia was the only country in the world that imposed spar life on the Queenairs. The life limit depended on engine size.
I never heard of one crashing anywhere in the world due to spar failure.

I believe CASA has finally lifted it recently :ok:
