The Nigerian (former) niche player has three of its four EMB 120s parked at Lagos, weeks on end, with no activity. Its sole scheduled service, the Lagos-Benin shuttle, is much scaled down. Don't know about their charter ops, though, which flies two Hawker 700s. Their B727-200 cargo is said to be due for maintenance. Fellow ppruners, please supply info, if you can!

Like virtually all other nigerian airlines, Asso is under financial stress. Though all these airlines may show different symptoms but they have a common ailment. One emb120 is at a svc centre for a major check, another grded due severe engine damage leaving just 2. The erj 145 had to be flown to spain for autoplt repairs. Don't know if its back to service. I heard that the intend to bring in a B733F and erj 145s. But like any aviation project in nigeria, uncertainity is almost 100%. I know a couple of plts and engrs interviewed by Asso over a month ago, but not surprisingly even a word from them since then.
