Contact of mine indicated that PIA are looking to increase Manchester rotations to 34 per week using 777's. Has anyone heard anything further?

Certainly the 777 will be appreciated by all the airport's neighbours I'm sure.

Cheers

Don't know about 777s - there have been persistent rumours for a few weeks now, including deliveries via EGCC, but nothing concrete.

What IS definite is that PIA are changing type to A310s on 4xweekly Toronto sectors.

This could signal the end of the "coal-burning" 747-200s, but I'll bet the 747-300s will continue to imperil the rooftops of Mobberly for some years to come! <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

This was reported in a thread in airliner.net:

"A full page advertisement carried out by PIA in Pakistan's leading English daily 'DAWN', the airline has requested Pakistani's to be patriotic and choose them over other airlines when travelling, the ad also only mentions the following routes (chopped to list GB routes only!) with apparently reduced frequencies:

New York-5 flights weekly
Toronto-1 flight weekly
United Kingdom-12 flights to London/5 to Manchester"
