Is there a web site where the approach/departure routes are displayed, overlayed on a map of the area around the airport?

Would appreciate any links...

If you take a look NATS | AIS - Home (http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php%3Foption=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=6&Itemid=13.html) you can view SIDs ad STARs. Not sure if there are any sites with them overlayed onto a map. They have distances on then so you could work it out or make your own if you're handy with photoshop. Anyone else any ideas?

Try:

Flightradar24.com - Live Flight Tracker! (http://www.flightradar24.com/%C2%A0)

Shows me there's a TOM from AYT on its way into BHX but apart from that skies over Bard's country looking very quiet.

I'm not sure it tracks everything, other parts of the world seem very quiet.

And it won't tell me who's buzzing around with an annoying heli over western Coventry right now but I know who the usual suspects are!

I assume you want maps of SID/STAR's on a map?

Give this a go, it's excellent: Virtual Dispatch (http://www.virtual-dispatch.net/)

It might help if you were to identify "the airport".

Many noise-sensitive airports have websites where you can view actual aircraft tracks.

Otherwise you're dependent on resources like flightradar24.com, but they can only track aircraft equipped with ADS-B, and then only for the part of the flight (if any) that's within range of one of the enthusiasts who contribute feeds to the service.

Thanks for that, hadn't delved into their sources of info. That explains a great deal.

Eurocontrol has an online database, does it not?
