Anyone have any knowledge/background on lengthening the runway at London City? Understand it would also reduce the Glideslope to 4.0 degrees from 5.5.

i heard this rumour last year, nothing since. the info i was passed was that the apron was to be extended first to provide an additional 6 or 8 stands, pararell to the runway. i was originally told that the runway was to be extended by approx 200 meters but this was scorned upon, by other pruners for various reasons. planning permission i guess being the primary reason for possibly not lenghtning but also some major engineering work on the sub structure and foundations would also have to be carried out as the land would have to be reclaimed from the water.
