Sliding Carpet or AKH?
I'm guess from a cargo prospective the carpet would be more restrictive in terms of weight per piece etc?

What aircraft type, A320?
I'd personally say AKH's for the simple fact of loading speed (generally speaking) and also ease of loading.

Thanks 750XL, yes A320.
I also agree - ULD's seems to be the better option.
Guess depends on network and destinations that have facility to handle ULD's rather than a loose load.

I think it's a hard one to call without further information on what type of cargo the aircraft will be carrying, whether it's a frequent load or if it's going to be used for ad-hoc charters etc.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know operators who use sliding carpets?
I know Thomas Cook do on their 753s (are sliding carpets standard on all 753s?) and Aegean do on some of their A320s
I stand ready to be corrected, but I think sliding carpet is not standard on *any* aircraft.

It is standard on our 737s (pax airline of course). Dunno about our A320 fleet, some old ones and a few A321s have a container configuration, the rest is bulk loading, but no clue if they have a sliding carpet. And we do take cargo, but as i'm on the 737 it is bulk loading only.

DHL tried the small ULD in the belly on 757-200sf but gave up. Went to sliding carpet about 7 or 8 years ago.
