Having been through SXM several times now, it looks like no landings are possible on 28 - even in a twotter. I have seen take-offs over Maho Beach by some US carriers, but wasn't sure if this was due to wind changes (didn't appear to be so, as they were against the run of play) or operational reasons.
Even going off 10 is a hairy turn to the right.
SAB is technically closed at both ends but specially certified pilots can use it - afaik, landings and takeoffs can use either.
Meanwhile Lukla (LUA) in Nepal is completely closed at one end, so landings and take-offs have to use the same end, aided by a 12% incline.
There must also be larger fields where runways can only be used in one direction due to interference with other runways - although I'm not sure how many are closed outright as opposed to generally used for either t/o or landing.
Could anyone elaborate?
