With the diminishing number of corporate B727's, I'm surprised that the salary offered is so low, I would have thought that corporate pilots on the 727 would be a valued commodity.

The offer for F/O is 5500 and F/E 4500.

i saw this offered on the web, I have absolutely NOTHING to do with them.

You got that backwards there Mutt, 72 drivers are a dime a dozen now with hardly any airframes still serviceable so they are probably falling over each other to get the few jobs out there!!!!

Five years ago, we went looking for a 727 PIC, all the resumes came from guys 65+ years old... almost all were not current.

I think that as new aircraft arrive on the ramp, the better flight departments and pilots will migrate towards them. For a while, pilots may stick with the older iron, but as a general rule, after 10 years, the good jobs will be with new equipment and after 30 years, the only place to find these antiques will be the eccentric departments staffed by people who can't get a job anywhere.

With an airframe age of 30-40-50 years, I can't think of a single 727 or GII job I know of where the aircraft are well maintained and the crew is paid well ( or paid on time). Why would anyone want this unless he was unemployed or starting out?

Is that per month? Seems a bit low. I only know personally one 72 corporate pilot, flies for a NBA (Basketball) team and he makes close to $200,000.00 a year. When not hauling the team around, the owners use it for personal transportation.

Oh, the 727 is a full Valsan conversion with a glass cockpit, a -200.

Yes CP, per month.......

I can understand that there are a lot of 727 pilots around, but I wouldn't have thought that there were many corporate 727 around, that's why i find the salary dismally low.....

Not near as many as there was ten years ago, that's for sure. Currently I believe that there are five or six corporate 727 on market.

Saw 2 at LAX on Thursday. A -200 San Jose Sharks and a goofy looking-100 "Peter..." something or other. Also a 707, 707JT...always nice to see.

You are aiming too low in today's corporate planes. Demand WI-Fi Internet in-flight, iPad connectivity, private stereo music thru an iPod. Beer? Try MacAllen scotch, con-pilot will thank you.

Reclining seat is a nice idea, but i got more than a few winks on the table, studying the perf chart at 3am. :ok:

Yup, that non-reclining FE seat was a real pain, literally, on our long range 727, back when I played at being the FE.

I was told that the FE seat on the 747s, that had FEs, was reclining. That true?

I think an extra $7000/month on top of your pension would be very nice thank you!!

Always a few at Lasham, in fact one arrived there this morning. Someone is spending money on MX, so there must be demand for the airframes.
