The way things have been going over here in the past 48 Hours, we will need a Helicopter aswel to help with the Mountain Fires. One Mountain was fully ablaze. Took Firefighters an hour to reach it on foot.

Prolly because they are wearing "turnout" gear. I see in the picture they are wearing just that, and no fire shelters. Seems like you need an expert on fighting "wildland" fires in those parts---COMPLETELY different to structure fires.

having seen the fire brigade on Dartmoor while using a bambi everyone wondered why they bothered to turn up !
As for what happened in Wales from what i hear it was a cluster f--k with the current operator.

The BBC article does not say, so I was interested if anyone knew who was doing the flying/providing the helicopter.

Helinut, the Beeb article says "the Forestry Commission have provided us with this specialist helicopter equipment and pilot."

I don't doubt the F-C paid for it, but I do doubt the F-C have a heli and certainly AFAIK are not a heli operator. I was just being curious who was the real operator/supplier of the heli.

Hi all, I know this site is a rumour network but it Would be really great if Huges 500 could get his facts correct before making any statements.

The one thing that was correct is that Airbourne solutions did get awarded the contract ( Again!) because they provide a fully professional and effective service.

Not sure who is being accused of a Cluster f**k but definatley was not Airbourne or the FCW. Mind you, there are plenty of wananbe operators out there who dont have the correct aircraft or equipment.

I have found the guys at Airbourne very proffessional and friendly, however if you have a problem then perhaps you can PM me and I will pass it on accordingly.

Please show me then where on the CAA's website under AOC operators do you find Airbourne Solutions , answer you dont.
As for a cluster f..k a term used by Brecon beacon's NP staff, if you want the names PM me. I was asked to come and help by BBNP, but FC manager couldnt make a decision as it was the weekend and he was at home.
