Can someone please advice me on how to flare well. How to know when to level off?

I am not great in that area and want some advice on it.

Lastly if you have heavy headwind how would you change you approach from the one we use with lower levels of headwind?

thanks!

Well that differs from plane to plane. And I believe you have to train with your instructor and get the right feeling for it.

"I am not great in that area and want some advice on it."

Your instructor should give you a method, and with discipline, you should improve your performance.
If your performance does not improve, it's either that you're not disciplined enough AND/OR that you don't understand what to do.
If you don't understand what to do you, have the method explained again by your instructor. If it's still not clear, you might want to hire another instructor, these things happen.

Just keep trying to avoid having the nosewheel touching the ground until the mainwheel is down.
When you feel the runway getting close bring the end of the runway into your scan which will allow you to realise how low or high you are. Then hold an attitude that will get the main gear down by adding back pressure.

If you want to slow the process down and you have a nice long runway land with a litttle more power.
Keep practicing and it will come.

I always found watching the fare end of the runway and holding it in the same part of the window on approach will get you down nicely, then when you feel you are getting quite close to the ground/piano keys, pull back a bit on the yoke and just glide the plane along the runway while continuing applying back pressure as speed comes off and you should not even feel it touch down :)

Hi All,

Please correct me if I'm Wrong. Most of the cadet that I come across they failed to "SEE' & "DO"
1) If you don't see the Flare attitude how you actually select the attitude....(PITCH ATTIUDE)

2) When you come from approach you had to ask yourself " When to Flare" " How to Flare" Always see and do.

Hope the above Information help....

Good day to all pilot Happy Flying
