I have been looking at a book which shows a Trident parked up at Perth Aerodrome around 20 years ago.
Was the aircraft flown in, when did it arrive and what happened to it?

Scotland. There also used to be an Air Inter Viscount 700 at Perth. What happened to that aircraft as it was kept in a hangar?

The aircraft is/was G-ARPX, Air Service Training. (The Trident).

If the Viscount was F-BGNR from Air Inter, it is now with the Midland Air Museum awaiting re-assembly.

I believe it was flown in. It was broken up a good few years ago, but the odd part or two still lingers around AST.

So how long is/was Perth's runway?
From a flight guide dated 1980:
Take-off and Landings distances are identical for all RWYs:
04/22 853m x27m tarmac 04 = 853m / 22 = 853m
10/28 609m x22m tarmac 10 = 609m / 28 = 609m
also grass 15/33 available, length 564m for t/o and landing
From AERAD 1987:
04/22 TORA/ASDA/TODA/LDA = 2799 Feet

Was watching this Vickers Vanguard lands at Brooklands -- The incredible story - YouTube
and remembered the even more remarkable "arrival" which is the subject of this thread.
Anybody got any footage/still pictures of the arrival of the "gripper" (or even the Froggy Viscount) would love to have seen that.
The Skippers name (Alan Bailey ) seems to ring a bell, anyone know if he did something post BA ?
