Hi,
Does anyone know if a route check (Once a year) for a PIC could be
given in a flight simulator?

Possibly does not answer your question (geographically) but in EU-Ops
Line checks must be completed in an aeroplane.

Yes, I know.
No, it cannot.
The PC (Proficiency Check) can be (and normally is) done in the simulator. The Line Check must be done in an airplane, "on the line."

It appears that both terms are same.
Which countries / jurisdictions use which terms, if anybody can advise.

Er, they invented it - AQP. ATQP is the European version, but younger....
