You have to be Russian (or Belarus) citizen to fly Russian AOC aircraft. This may change soon but nobody knows when.

To Polax52,
The company ABC doesn't hire foreigners as of yet to fly their equipment. There is a proposal on the Russian '' Duma'' ...their legislative body desk regarding the change of the law. Putin met with the head of Rosaviation '' their FAA '' and proposed to wait with the changes in the law. Aeroflot is the airline that wants to bring the foreign pilots in, and the reason for it is to have the leverage against salary increases for their own pilots. There is a constant fight in Aeroflot to stay competitive with Transaero Airlines, because as of now both companies are on par with the pay, but the pilot groups is always on the lookout. There is no loyalty in Moscow, and the king is the one with the bigger wad of cash. I know personally of a guy, that flown turbo prop in US, and because of his Belarussian citizenship got a job flying the 747-8F for Air Bridge cargo. He loves is.
Good luck.
