How do I convert my European (JAR-FCL) to Australian?

Written exams and/or pratical skill test?

Both. And a bit more.

All details here:

Civil Aviation Safety Authority - Converting foreign licences (http://www.casa.gov.au/scripts/nc.dll?WCMS:STANDARD::pc=PC_90024)

It's a lot easier that way (jar-casa) than the other way around, go figure!

...sounds like a lot of effort to go too unless you've got a job lined up. Jobs are pretty hard to come by down under, even for the very experienced.

Gulibell,

There is plenty of work in OZ at the moment for experienced pilots.

It's a very "tribal" job market. I've got over 6000 hours multi-engine IFR offshore, all accident free, but can't even get a sniff at doing joyflights on weekends in R22s, or anything else for that matter. As I say a tribal market, I'm obviously in the wrong tribe :ugh:
