Incident: RAK A320 near Ras Al Khaimah on Mar 10th 2012, engine shut down in flight

A RAK Airways Airbus A320-200, registration A6-RKB performing flight RT-300 (dep Mar 9th) from Ras Al Khaimah (United Arab Emirates) to Kozhikode (India) with 141 people on board, was enroute at FL310 about 200nm southeast of Ras Al Khaimah when the crew needed to shut an engine (CFM56) down, drifted down to FL200 and returned to Ras Al Khaimah for a safe landing about 85 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration A6-RKC reached Kozhikode with a delay of 10 hours.
