Can't seem to send email from the pop3 account set up on my smartphone.

Can receive no problem, but when I try and reply to an email or send a new one I just get a message saying send failed.

Have checked and double checked the pop3 and smtp settings and all are correct.

Can anyone offer an insight?

Lewycasino,

SMTP is, of course, the tool of the spammers and phishers. So if the ISP providing your email has any common sense, they will lock down the service.

So, have you checked your SMTP authentication settings ? Or have you only checked the server name is correct ?

Have you checked with your ISP whether they accept roaming connections ? (some ISPs lock down to source IPs from their own network).

Took me a while - had to 'fiddle' with the SMTP security settings and, I think, the port number to get mine to work.
