If you have lost flight records but still have your logbook are you able to resume flight training?

AZNA, as long as the log book entries are certified (or certifiable), yes!

I agree with the above poster, but don't rely on the instructor you are going to fly with, he doesn't have the final say on how your new records begin.

You need to spend a lil time with the CFI of your chosen training organisation so that he understands the issues and implements appropriate measures to ensure the paper trail on your training is set in place. At the end of the day he is responsible/accountable, so you really need to talk to him for the smoothest ride.

Firstly from memory your flight school has to retain your training records for 5 or 7 years?

Has it been longer?

Secondly, your logbook is a legal document. It must be stamped on each page through your progress during training.

Next is to just sit with the CFI and set up a program for you to get back into the groove...(where you left off) so to speak.
