Hi everyone, sorry this isn´t in Spanish but I wouldn´t know how to put the message across!

Basically, I have to be in Spain working until June as part of my university course.

One of my flatmates has illegally kicked me out of the flat and I am about to tell the police about his illegal goings-on and therefore will not stay in the flat anyway. I am going back to England soon to collect my thoughts and cool off because if I stay here it´ll get violent.

Anyway, I have 5 months to go until June and need to work! I am not coming back to Madrid but would love to try another part of Spain.

Does anyone know if it will be possible to get a flat for 5 months in Spain? Does anyone know if it will be possible to get a job for 5 months in Spain?? Any help would be appreciated I am stuck out on my own here and don´t know where to turn.

Pako, can I come and clean the tower at AGP? I´ll do it for free as long as I can sleep there too!

Sorry to load you with all this information but I can always trust PPrune folk to help out in a crisis!

Thanks!

Rupert

Hi Rupert,

Sorry to hear your story. Anyway I don't know if you have to stay in Madrid till June or anywhere in Spain will do.

. .You must know that getting a job here is not an easy thing, but if you send me an e mail with your backgroung, I can try here in Córdoba. Unfortunately, as I am myself a guest here, cannot offer you a place to stay, but I can ask around.

Good luck!!

Hi Joaquin,

Thanks for the reply. I am very grateful for the assistance you have offered, but Cordoba was where this to55er came from who kicked me out and he regularly goes home to see his parents so I am afraid I will decline your generous offer! I am trying to get away from him!!

A change of location from Madrid would be preferable though, yeah.

Thanks again!

Do u think Cordoba is a small British Village with one pub, one chemist, one-post office and one church??? http://www.smilies.nl/sad/nixweiss.gif

DVR6K. .As Joaquin says, to get a job in Spain is very difficult, unless you decide to collect strawberrys in Huelva working 12 hours a day for a ridiculuos salary. Sorry to say no extra place to sleep in the tower, and the cleaning is done by the airport sevice.. .You better sit down for a while an take your time to decide what's the best for you at this moment.

to find jobs , the better season is late spring and sumer, you could esasily get to work as a waiter on the coastal cities (Valencia , benidorm ,alicante ,marbella , etc....).. .I`m from valencia, and in winter, as another pruner pointed out, agricultural jobs are available, but those jobs are hard, although the pay is not bad if you take in account you don't need any qualification (you can expect to make up to 60 E / 10.000 per day collecting oranges for 6 or 7 hours a day).. .I know a couple of irish pubs in valencia wich employ english people ,one is called "saint patricks" (and it is located at Gran via Germanias, Valencia) and the other is "Sally o'brien" (located in Avenida Aragón, also in Valencia), sorry i cannot give you the complete adress (i mean the numbers), but you can try the website of paginas amarillas (that is the spanish yellow pages) to find out the phone number.. .i hope it helps you, good luck!!
