Since it gets rather chilly in China over the winter I was wondering whether there was some form of temperature compensation added into the many vectors that they like to give for arrivals.

We always activate temp comp in our FMS and haven't actually been asked to descend below the FMS calculated altitudes. Our ops manual says that if we use temp comp we should tell ATC, but I have a bad feeling that would just end in a world of ingrish pain.

160 views and no answer? Am I to assume that Cathay and Dragonair fly into China all the time and have no procedure for temperature compensation?

There are no answers because this is a 'Wannabes' forum, Ace. It's for starry-eyed adolescents with SJS trying to gain employment flying into China on sub-standard conditions.

There will be lots of KA pilots to answer your question on the main 'Fragrant Harbour' forum.
