View Full Version : A question about Command...

I have seen on quite a few threads comments saying that 30-something new recruits may never get their command because of their age at start. I know there are many reasons in addition to age for speed of progression, but would like to field opinions on whether, all things being equal, a 3o-something start is an issue. To kick the thing off, my take is that you still have 30 yrs to give an airline, so how can there not be the same opp' for command. I appreciate you may not be there for as long as someone younger, but to not get there at all?

The only situation in UK where that might have been the case would have been BA over the late '80s, early '90s. As far as I know, there are currently no UK airlines where progression to command is currently that slow.
