Hey fellow pilots,

I am looking to do some 300 Hours of Multi Engine in the US.

I have an Australian CASA CPL/ME-IR.

Anybody knows where I can find really cheap ones and knows the exact requirements to do so and how long it might take ?

Thanks Alot!

Happy Landings :ok:

What do you need the hours for? A job offer?
What type of airplane have they offered you?
Finding the cheapest rent-a-wreck Apache and noodling around the sky may not be the best option.
Eagle Jet International used to have time building programs with freight operators where you get to fly "real" airplanes (Navajo's, Chieftains) under "real" operating conditions rather then flying around with a "recreational" state of mind in an airplane that you cannot safely fly IFR with.

I know of an Apache you can rent in Florida. And you get to log PIC, unlike some EJ P2F SIC on a single pilot operation deal. PM me for details

Thanks for the Reply guys,

Yes its for a job offer, on beech 1900, I checked eagle jets website before, do they still do it? and how long do you think it takes for the 300 hrs?

Many Thanks fellow pilots!

for 500 hours on beech 1900 it takes one year !! it means u gonna fly 50 to 60 hours per month, i am talking about eagle jet international !! and yes they r still doing it !!

so for about 300 hours u can be done in 8 months i think !!

but why dont u apply for a job in a flying school !! would be better instead of wasting money to get hours !!

My point exactly, drilling holes in the sky VFR in some-danger-to-your-life Apache may not be your best option.
If it's all you can afford go for it.
Here is another (albeit expensive) option for a Beech 1900:
Eagle Jet Flight Training and Sales, Piston Flight Training and Jet Sales, Airplane Sales. (http://www.eaglejet.net/FCatalog.asp?Submit=Display)

If you choose the B1900 program in the US, be aware that it is a single pilot operation and the pilot is not required to have you onboard. You definitely will be loading cargo (not necessarily a bad thing), you might get to tune the radios, and if the aircraft is close on Max weight, you will be left behind for cargo. There are some captains at this 135 company that specifically request "no FOs".

If your eaglejet US operation B1900 position was really a required crew member position, there is no way that you would be able to get a visa for the program.

Zonda, why so negative?
I assume we are both trying to help the OP but this is getting annoying.
You are perfectly willing to recommend him a "cheap" Apache for drilling holes in the sky VFR vs gaining experience on the type that he will fly
And other Captains specifically DO request a FO as they get paid more when they do. So what's you point? That's a hypothetical question so no need to answer.
And what is wrong with SIC time? Obviosuly the OP is not hired on as Captain since he lacks the ME time for the job.
So Zonda I would suggest we stay out of each other's way, promote our opinion (that's all it is) and let the OP make an informed decision as to what he wants to do.

Ok, I agree to disagree. I guess my stance is that I am anti P2F but we are all Entitled to our own opinions. Sorry about that.

Sure, no worries, nothing personal :ok:
But if you are against P2F why rent an airplane to timebuild?
Isn't it essentially the same thing?
Sorry...couldn't resist...I'll get my coat....:E

Hey Guys. Thanks for all the replies, its more clear to me right now...

Anyways I am dislike the idea of P2F but if the airline told me to do so, and get hired by them, then why not. Because, if I take some place of a qualified FO why did they tell me in the first place to do so... thats why I am alright with that point right now!

cheers

Then Why not !!?? :):)
I have applyed to eaglejet lionair program, finished my 737 Type in a crapy TRTO (on his list) in september , cash pay of course, after that they completely forgot me .... eaglejet lionair left me rated and jobless, not even another 737 program to apply.... only debts.... at this rate if i'm lucky i'll finish to pay at the age of 50.... no other airline is even looking at my CV, 25% reply telling me "tanks for the application but not now"
I'm 33 maybe if you are younger you will have better luck.... i really wish that for you.....
when i apllied price was 26500... now is 40000$$$$$$!!!$$ of course i' will have the privilege of the new contract !!:):)
Finally i do have a really smart question for those guys in the same condition like me !!! i saw with my eyes at least 30 of them and God knows how many others.... i know you are reading this .... and i'm asking you.... why i am the only Idiot reporting this on this forum ??
Really sorry for my bad English....
God Bless every future Pilot .....
