Has anyone picked up any signals in the direction of restrictions being placed on jump-seat policies with Scandinavian carriers - especially SAS? (Personally I don't see what could be gained by restricting such access in light of the determination shown by these assasins / terrorists.)

Problem is I'm stuck in the States holding ID tickets - and scheduled to fly in Norway on Tuesday. (Although in the whole run of things, my problem is trivial.) Back-logs of passengers must be in the thousands with SAS alone - and I would image most/many of these are europeans returning from vacation - hence low no-show rates. Any others in similar situations?

Well, the FAA just issued a new ruling today concerning commuting pilots:

"You can only jumpseat on your own carrier."

It may not apply across the Atlantic, (SAS, KLM or whoever) but UPS and Fed-Ex and them guys would certainly have to turn ya down for a ride.

Bad times ahead for sure.

Good luck paddleing.... :D

Hej Cloud Surfer
Buss. or First Class??

SAS Chicago (which handles all American and Canadian inqueries) pretty much laughed up my plans to get home soon. As for availability, I was offered a first class ticket with BA on the 22nd.... I dind't even ask for the price.

Might as well enjoy a looong vacation on the west coast (tryin to get out of YVR or SEA.)
