According to various credible sources, 1time airlines director of flight operations was arrested early on Friday morning for speeding.
He apparently never got bail. As I write this I understand
he is still in jail for the weekend!
Nobody wants to spend the weekend in jail waiting for a Monday morning court appearance!

250 kph on the R21 which is part of the route from town to JNB International.

All he was trying to do was to reach V1!

250kph?! That's a decent effort!

That's not like him. Always knew him as a fairly quiet bloke. Emergency perhaps?

Firstly the speed was 160kph, and no he never spent the weekend jail,

Seems some people really enjoy exaggerating and blowing something out of proportion.

Thats because the facts are just so mundane. We like excitement. Pprune is getting duller and duller, at least in the Africa forum.

Shrike, extra special bonus points if it was on 1 wheel whilst in a 4 wheel vehicle.

Gee stormwinds, was merely stating the facts I was given. If I wanted to be nasty I surely could of, however I refrain to do so. The gen I gave was the full monty up until I got off my flight and discovered different.
Weekend or day, who cares? His days are numbered!
The question is who will take over as the new DFO of 1time?
I would have to ask, is this the final straw for his multiple indiscretions?:ooh:

Amen! When did factual correctness become a requirement on this forum.

As far as I'm concerned he was arrested for going 250kph, blind drunk, half naked in an unlicensed car with the police chief daughter.

That makes him my new hero.

Wow!! What a hero... :D Seems that some people's disregard for SOPs, regulations and safety, extend not only to the flight deck, but to the road too..

Blue light brigades do that speed through town when the Minister of pens & pencils is late for a pencil sharpener shortage meeting. Why the fuss over this guy?

Ah....bitter co-workers with an axe to grind but without the 'nads to approach the subject directly, so they post anonymous comments on the ol' Prune. Yawn.

There is a special place in hell for those who revel in someone else's misfortune. Also home to crack whores and paedophiles so you should know a few people there.

...and no....I don't know him...but I know your type.

For reference (and I'm pretty sure of this actually): Crack whores, paedophiles =/= schadenfreude posters on pprune. I know this because my cat said so. Even it knows this fact. And it's quite feeble, mentally at least.

But that's all besides the point, because I also think you've misunderestimated (bring back Bush!) the tone of this thread :E I can only suggest shedding some mass.

I'm sure the said DFO's colleagues resorted to the forums in order to embarras the person beacuse he is such a well respected, well liked, caring, steadfast person of unquestionable integrity and astonishing ability, people and management skills ....... Shame on them:rolleyes: !
