As an operator of a approved FSTD device by a JAA Authority, as of the end of April this year the continuing approval is the responsibility of EASA.*

Presently no application forms, no scale of charges, no process, no application procedure, no contact in any form. Not even a address to send the chap with the message in a forked stick.

Question, what happens when ones approval expires and the device is not approved, also no contingency for this event. The usual non response to enquires though the general e mail address.

I guess to involved in free lunches and ensuring that allowances and other perks are covered.

Just to advise, anyone needing EASA FSTD renewal soon should monitor the EASA web site and the UK CAA Advisory service on a regular basis. Contact your certifying authority and be mindful of the need to prepair.*:ok:

Except that a ‘little regulatory bird’ had told me that the April date could be further delayed until January 2013!!!
The ex JAA national authorities were effectively going to be acting as EASA agents from 1st April 2012. Total confusion reigns though with many of the national authorities stating they are not sure about the EASA position on issuing ‘foreign’ certificates.
